2015 Port Eliot Festival, they invited my kids on to the Blue Steel to experience the cramped conditions the lads will endure on the epic challenge the are about to undertake.
The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic ChallengeIn December 2015 Freddie Wright and Jack Galsworthy are setting out to row the 3,000 miles from La Gomera in the Canary Isles across to Antigua in what is known to be the world’s toughest rowing race, the Talisker Atlantic Challenge. If we complete this challenge, we will be in the running for the World Record as the youngest pair to make this crossing!!
More people climb Mount Everest every year or have even been into space than have rowed the Atlantic!
This is not surprising considering that competitors will have to face up to 40 foot waves, howling winds, sharks, blisters and salt rashes, sunstroke and sleep deprivation as they row a constant shift of 2 hours on 2 hours off for what could be between 45-95 days.
My hart went out to the lads and i offered to make a short ProMo film to help gain more support.
Flying drones off speed boats out of st Mawes in cornwall was a great day out. I felt like James Bond.
